How many ft-lbs can manual trannys like the zf-6, tko 5spd, and richmond trannys handle?

There are alot of us running alot more horsepower then that with those transmissions as so far I have heard of no problems. The TKO is rated around 500FT lbs.

I'm also tired of the Auto trannies. The TKO is what Monty is using behind his TT 427 ci. So we wouldn't have a problem. Lot's of guys out road racing say that the ZF6 never lets them down year after year with lots of power and sticky tires making laps. So it far exceeds it's lower TQ rating

I'm on the internet looking for a Super T-6. The super is what NASCAR uses for their road racing events. They only use them once and they are all up for sale. My buddy picked up one for $4000 used, refreshed. The beauty of them is nearly clutch free use after your moving.

Monty was using the TKO in his car with the 427sbc, but moved up to a new automatic 4160 (?) 4spd OD .

I have the TKO in my car & love it so far. I'll also be throwing alittle more than 500hp at it this year :thumbs: .

Actually Monty is using a 4L80E

My dad has a Doug Nash 5 spd in his '64 that puts out about 550hp and runs 10s.

I am making about that much power at the rear wheels and have been pleased as can be with my ROD 6 speed with .82:1 overdrive.

I have a 92 ZF-6 speed,hope it stays together.

TKO in my 70 T/A. It's behind a 471 making 565 h.p.. It's lived for 3 years behind that bad boy.

I'm using an old Doug Nash 5 speed. Richmond bought them out and created their 5 and six speeds from the original designs. I'm making over 600 RWHP and have killed everything behind it, but the trans has never wimpered!

I think I know of a 6 speed trans that will for sure hold up in a vette no matter what HP. The ZF S6-650, It's the new trans they are putting behind the Duramax, Cummins and PowerStroke diesels. Manufactured to handle 520 lb-ft TOWING 12,000+ lbs.
Just a warning you may have a tough time fitting it under your car & finding a bellhousing that will work. :banghead: :banghead:
