Default New to the Forum-Need Help!!

Just bought an '82 'vette. Body and motor cherry, but inside electrical slashed & gashed by previous owner. Previous owner was a weekend dragracer and started to modify the vette. I have power windows & lights all hardwired to battery, everything else except ignition disconnected and not working. Any suggestions where to start? P.S. All the wires have been cut and the new wires are all the same color code. Any and all advice welcome.
Thanks
I will post pics when I figure out how. :)

Sounds like you best bet is to get a whole new wiring harness....Sorry to hear it was hacked up in the first place.

Glad to see another 82 on board....

:iagree:

Even if you could decipher Bubba's handy work you undoubtedly would find further "issus" down the road. You be better off starting from scratch with a new wiring harness.

Do it right the first time and you will never regret it. Hope the price was right on the car!

Car runs, looks, and sounds great- and the price was sweet- I got a good deal on this one, so I took it. Happy to be part of this new experience-and happy to have a place to share the moments. Appreciate everyone's help :)

Just bought this one over the weekend-previous owner recommended this forum, so he probably was a member. This is one of the pics he gave me. Haven't had a chance to take my own pics yet. After electrical, I plan on giving it a new paint job/match paint on it, and put it to its original condition, restore interior, maybe some mods, but I pretty much plan on enjoying it for the pleasure of driving.

Hello there Catnpaw :seeya Love that silver paint (see my sig) Good luck with the wireing. Many publications are out there to help you with this task. First thing you should get is the assembly manual (AIM) Then a shop manual. If you can read wireing diagrams....buy the BIG laminated one. Good Luck....

AIM Manual & Shop Manual were in the storage compartment when I bought it. I have experience reading schematics, who would have thought I would spend more time reading the blueprints instead of driving-but it's icy & snowy right now so this is a good way for me to prepare for summer driving and spend my time fixing it in the winter ;)
