A member e-mailed me this evening re the rear main seal install procedure. A local parts person advised him to pull the torque converter back to get the seal in. In other words pull the transmission. No..........The C3 seal is a half-moon affair that goes in with the end bearing cap being pulled. And the transmission being in place. The one-piece seal was introduced in 1986 I believe. This pic is the GM version of the C3 seal.
