Default Quick altenator/charging help needed!

Okay, on my second altenator.. before I crank it I just want to check and see if I am doing something obviously wrong here. I think I may have hooked up the first one incorrectly and damaged it; hence the second one.

And yep, neg. battery is disconnected, battery showing 12.3V with meter.

On the side opposite of the pulley- positive and negative connections. Hard to screw up.

On the side of the altenator, the connector plugs into R (1) and F (2) connections. Red wire to R (1) and white to F (2), right? Just the way the connector should plug in?
