short throw shift kits??
has anyone ever heard of a short throw poopie kit for a c3? if so please give me a link to the site so i can check it out. or have any of you made a custom one? pics? thanks guys

It is easy. You don't need a kit. There are two sets of holes on the tranny linkage. Just switch to the other holes. You will have to make a tool to keep the shifter in the neutral position so that you adjust the linkage properly. There is a diagram of the tool in the Haynes manual.

Why dont most people like the feel, i've had it on other cars and it seemed more firm to me, but i've also never had it on a 30yr old car. :chevy

There was a thread on this subject a few years ago and if I recall correctly
during some year the plate changed from two holes to one. To go to a short
throw a set of plates with two linkage holes would have to be purchased. I do
remember looking them up in one of my catalogs to do what you're contemplating

Sorry for the short answer had to go some place. If the linkage is in the upper holes the shift will be shorter, but because of the geometry it will take more force to move the lever.
