Default birdcage and frame rust

I was at the Precision Valley Corvette Museum in Springfield, Vermont last weekend. A '71 coupe is displayed with the body and frame separated. Apparently the car was owned by Zip Products, and it has very few miles on it. I noticed a bit of light rust inside the rear frame rails near the fuel tank. I also noticed light rust on the bottom edges of the birdcage. I assume this had been a Virginia car, so I am curious to know how badly C3 frames and birdcages rust even in warm climates or even if a car is only driven in the summer. By the way, the museum is very small (8-10 cars), but very good.

My 75 is JUNK - look in NHvette.com to see.
I presume that it was driven often in New England.

My 70 is AWESOME. All the bolts come out - and most steel is solid.
I presume that this vette was well cared-for in the New England area.

I say - It all depends on how you treat her.

ps - where is Springfield ? I only make it up to Killington - would it be a short
trip from there ? I suspect not - never heard of Springfield VT. Guess I'll
go check mapquest.

The Precision Museum is located about 10 minutes from Interstate 91 in Springfield VT. I live in Lebanon, NH near exit 20 on I 89 (last exit in NH) which intersects with I 91 after you cross the Connecticut River into White River Junction, Vermont. The Museum is about half an hour south on 91. It is also about half an hour North of Brattelboro, VT on 91. Fix your car and check it out!
