Universals.. with our without grease fittings

Yes, the solids are stonger. I went with Spicers becuase I wanted to do the job once and never have to worry about it again. They cost a little more, but it's worth it IMO.

I don't know how you drive your car. Solids might be overkill for you but like the previous poster said, go with the solids and have peace of mind in knowing you'll only have to do the job once. A couple of bucks more for each piece to buy in is worth it, IMO.
[EDIT] Find a driveline shop in your area. It will be able to press them in for you if you bring in your driveshaft and halfshafts. Very quick job--ought to be able to do it while you wait.

:iagree:
You can also try using a vice and sockets. Worth a try. If you can't get it with that, then try a driveline shop.
Good Luck!

Non-greaseable would be your best bet. They are much stronger and if you decide to do some mods to your engine they can take the extra horsepower. You need a press to do them the right way. You may crack one of the caps if your not sure about what your doing. - Dan

Whatever you do, DON"T use a hammer to try to remove your u-jionts. :nonod:

Half shaft U-joints can be a real tough job. You NEED a big vise or better yet an abor press. If you do all six plan a whole morning to do the job. USE Spicers solids. If you use the cheap ones ($6-$10 range) they will last about two months on the half shafts.

I use the bubba technique to remove u-joints. Take out the clips, place half shaft on large socket so inner diameter accepts width of bearing cap, take large c-clamp and place on ears of u-joint. Strike resoundingly with BFH. Repeat as necessary. Works every time.

3 out of 4 of my 1/2 shaft universal are greaseable and one is not. I have never broken a universal but twisted both axles.
I personally don't beat on my car and like the idea of greasing them occassionally.
