So that's what that drain plug is for.
I redid the interior last year and remember finding 2 small holes in the floor pan under the seatbelt pulleys (whatever you call them). Well the painter left my windows opened and I found the entire carpeting wet. Well last night a space heater/ a hair dryer and an oil funnel used to direct the flow of air under the seat seemed to do the trick at drying everything out. Well except for one thing. When I pulled the seatbelt up and out it was soaking wet! And I realed those 2 holes I epozyed shut were intended to be drain plugs since that area is one of the lowest areas of the floor. God I feel stupid. So I bent the plastic oil funnel and shoved it in the seatbelt hole and turned it on full blast. Hopefully that dried the area up. The seatbelt came out dry but that doesn't mean there isn't residual water below that.

I would yank the seats anyway and drill them back out...

you aint gonna believe this ,, BUT ,,if your worried about leftover moisture
and moldy smell,,,go see one of your cat lover friends and get some
" scented " kitty litter..spread some around and let it sit a day or so...
vacume that out and put down some more to make sure...you know what that stuff does in a cat box,,......also,when you spill some coffee or whatever
on the floor, wipe up what you can then some kitty litter over the spot and vacume it up the next day..no odor,no moisture..no prob..

I'd pull the seats no matter what. You are only talking about 4 bolts per. I don't think you can ever be too careful when you are dealing with moisture.

Do yourself a future favor and pull the seats and clean/dry it up. Maybe a thin coat of moisture resistant silicone spray to coat the metal parts too. Then redrill those holes. Just my .02.... :D Eddie
You will have to pull up the seats, remove the sill plates, pull the plastic covers over the seat belt retractors and then left the corner of the carpet.

Re: So that's what that drain plug is for. (Mystery Machine)
Last night I jumped under the car found thwe 2 holes and using a metal scribe pushed the silicone sealant out and at least 1/2 glass full of water came out the driver's side. I took the hair dryer and a funnel and pushed air from the opening by the seat thru the hole and it was dry after 30 seconds but kept the hair dryer blowing for a good 1/2 hour. Should be fine.
