Steeroids?Manual to power steering conversion?
Now that I have done my taxes, I'm lookin to spend it. I tired of manual steering and have been reading the threads on Steeroids but haven't seen to much on Manual to Power steering conversion. A few things I'd like to know...
1. If I do buy steeroids other than a power steering pump and brackets what else do I need?
2. Do i need to replace both the crank and water pump pulleys?
3. I do almost all of my own work and consider myself pretty good mechinaclly. Really how hard is this?(nothing is ever as easy as they say  )
All your help is always greatly appriciated

Mike,
I bought a used pump, bracket and pulley. I've looked over the assembly manual, and it just doesn't look hard at all. My pulleys look like they're ready to receive the additional belt.
My only concern is putting 30 year old power steering fluid into a brand new $1k steeroids unit. I think I'm going to exchange the used pump for a rebuilt one.

Check this link for another option . Go to http://www.corvettesteering.com for a conversion that uses an integral type steering box and is cheaper than the steeroids.

I have a used PS set up I was going to rebuild and install on my 69. I decided to stay with the manual. It's in my stock of corvette parts that I would sell at swap meets. If you're interested let me know.

Guys, I just went through the manual to power steering conversion. Everything went well until I tried out the power steering in the garage. When I went close to full left the power steering took over and turned right so hard it almost stalled the car. I finally figured out the problem. The only thing I didn`t change was the pitman arm. You must use a power steering pitman arm with power steering. I put a PS pitman arm on my car and now all is grand. Hope this helps.
