Detailed pics of the rear interior area of 70-72 convertible?
Can someone with a digital camera and a 70-72 convertible take some detailed pics of the rear storage are for me. Here is what I would like to see.
1. Full shot of rear area.
2. Convertible trim piece that screws into the door opening. These are the pieces that cost a fortune.
3. The area where the wedge weatherstripping and hatch bumpers are screwed into the body.
4. The package tray with doors closed and open.
5. Also how the carpet attaches to the rear firewall behind the seats.
Sorry I know this is a big request but all of this stuff was in boxes or missing when I bought the car.

Hey Wade, where are you located in Charlotte? I'm in Matthews and maybe we could meet up somewhere so you can see my '70. Or we can meet up at AutoFair since I'll be showing with the Queen City Corvette Club. Or if it's clear on Saturday, I'll be driving mine to the club meeting so if you're free come join us! If it looks like rain, I'll be in the C5! Mine's not a convertible but maybe it'll give you an idea of other things you may have questions about.

RMVette, That sounds great! Where is the meeting at on Saturday and what time. There are definately some things on your vette that I would like to take a look at that is the same on mine.
ALWYN678,
Yeah if you have some pictures I would like to see them. I doubt there is that much difference between yours and mine.
Thanks guys.

No pics, but I redid my 71 convertible interior recently and you can plan on having problems attaching the new carpet to the back wall. Original was held in place by rubber plugs. You can buy repo plugs but they are too short. I ended up using the plugs for OEM look, but used spray adhesive to actually hold it in place.

Thanks Alwyn678,
Those help me out a good bit. The only thing that I don't see on yours that I have on mine is a braket that is mounted on the side of each wheel well abbout a 1/4 way back. Someone told me that they were for the shoulder strap provisions. But my car didn't have shoulder straps. Any ideas. Also did you spray adhesive your carpet in?
Thanks again,
Wade

Hi!
I put 3-point belts in my '70 convertible recently. I will add the photos from that sessions to http://www.corvettes.de.vu tonight - they should show part of what you need.
Regards,
Chris
