Default What's involved in a/c removal

72 Lt1 (not original)
Here's what I see:
Remove compressor and related pulleys
Replace belts
Remove condensor from front of radiator
Replace evaporator box and blower w/ non-a/c parts (can this be done without removing engine?)
Replace console plate/ a/c controls with those from non-a/c car
Misc. wiring clean-up.

Anything else I'm missing?

I was able to remove my AC box without removing the engine or headers. It's a two-piece unit under the hood, just remove all the fasteners (there are a few) and pull it out half and half, no problem. Just did this over the weekend, in fact.
Have to remove the passenger lower dash and gauge cluster to get the heater box and heater core out. The heater core is different for an AC car, not sure about under dash mounting box, though.
I am not putting a heater core or blower motor back in, can't help you with that part.

sound like you got most of it. i did it without the motor in the car so i don't know how hard is gonna be with it in there. the only other thing i can think of was how the ac bracket bolts to the bolck. i kinda remember the bracket bolt also going through the exhaust manifold. i had to get a much shorter one when i installed the headers. i'm sure someone will correct me if i'm wrong. good luck. :flag

a/c compressor bracket mounts to manifold on side and head or water pump on front. I've already got it off the manifold, because I'm sending them out for porting.
