Paint Shop Needed (Northern Illinois)
Hello all you Land Of Lincoln'ers. My 72's interior is still gutted and I thought this would be the perfect time to get her painted the same original color. I would strip the remaining exterior parts and tow it to a shop. I also want the old paint stripped off before repaint. Any expierences to share or recomendations????
Thanks
Eddie

Re: Paint Shop Needed (Silvr77)
No experience, but I would check out D&M Corvette in Downers Grove. They have an excellent paint setup that is separate from any of their body shops and parts centers. Very well maintained environment and from what I could see, they do very thorough work. Don't know about prices, but check them out.

Ed,
Ever get into Waukegan ?? There is a shop just off Washington a few blocks east of Lewis called "Alamo auto body". I saw some of their work and it looks pretty good. ...redvetracr

RCB: Thanks..D&M is well known for their quality work. They are pricey though. They are quite a dictance from me, and the tow to their shop would be just as much as the paint job
Howard: How about that? Alamo is just a few short miles east of me...will check it out!!! Thanks!!

Try Zimm's Kustom - right there on Old Gages Lake Road - 847-223-1193. He's within a mile of you...
Talk to Klaus. He did a Miata for me a few years ago as "fill-in" work, so the turn-around was slow, the work was nice, and the rate was great. I'm planning to talk to him again on my Vette - later this summer

You might also want to check out Corvette City in Highland Park. They did a great job on fixing my doors and repainting them. http://www.vetteconnect.com/

Mucho Thanks Guys.
SRAY: I could push my car to Klaus it's so close! Never knew it was there, although every time I'm in that neighborhood I'm  at Jessie Oaks and can't see straight.
Tele_man: Never knew Corvette City painted. Thanks...
