If you're trying to go original, the driveshaft and rear end are not supposed to be painted at all- natural cast iron and steel.

what i was trying to do was avoid rust-so when i did the body off i wanted show quality. which i acheived by gettig 997 points outta 1000- the problem is i wanted to use por-15 on all metal parts- the frame was por'ed then i sent it out to z bart and had it sprayed inside the rails( couldnt get my hands on a z bart tool to spray por-15 inside the frame) the shop that did the drive shafts used ''manifold grey- which is great for exhaust manifolds-but doesnt''cure ''till 500 degrees f.-por -15 makes a metal coating that looks like bare metal--but wont rust-- they used the wrong stuff------ carl-----------

Here's mine after I put it back together. I kind of like the silver.

I used Eastwood's Detail Gray on mine. I sandblasted the driveshaft and half shafts. They actually fit in my benchtop cabinet. I used a wire wheel on a drill for the diff.

looks great!--thats how mine looked 2000 miles ago-backing plates get bad lookin real fast--i gotta spray them with a product from por called glisen p.c.-the fins on the rotors- are gettin surface rust--im going with black fins( por-15) and red calipers- is that por on your frame? looks beautiful--carl
