Where to get an adustable power booster pushrod?
I think that this may be my problem. The aftermarket power booster pushrod (the pedal side) seems about an inch shorter than the original one. Of course, I did measure it when I bought it, but I couldn't take the pushrod out of the one I was buying to check completely. (Autozone claimed that it would void my warranty) Now I know better. :mad
Does anyone know where I can get a longer pedal to booster pushrod, or an adjustable one?

I think I have an adjustable one that came out of my 75 PB setup.
I'm not giving it away, but if you want to take a drive up to Burlington during
the week, your welcome to borrow it and give it a try.
What is the basic overall length of your pushrod ?
I'll try and measure mine tonight.
DOH - it's the MC pushrod that's adjustable. my mistake - should have read
more carefully. My power booster is all out - if you want to borrow that for a test.
lemme know: dave@NHvette.com

When you get one be sure not to adjust it out too far. I made that mistake and locked my brakes up 2 blocks from home.I was probably pushing 5,000 rpms to get the car to go 20 mph to get it home.

Thanks for the info.
NH... im'd you. :)
My mastercylinder has an adjustble one, but it doesn't adjust enough. It's the pedal side rod that isn't long enough.

Mike - I was looking through my '75 AIM (same pedal setup as 73).
The brake light switch is on a bracket that has two screws holding it to
the pedal support. The picture shows a slotted hole, so that the screws
can be loosened and adjusted to turn on at 0.25"-0.64" depression.
Have you tried this adjustment ? If the brakes work well otherwise, this may be the ticket.

Thanks to James, I've found an adjustable pushrod 8.5-9.5 inches. It can be cut as needed too. :)
$19.00 from MPbrakes.com :D:D:D
Here's to hoping that it works.

Hmmm - something doesn't add up here!?
From what I'm reading here, the replacement booster is incorrect. The unit should be an exact replacement. Am I possibly missing something here?
2 options come to mind here:
-return unit to Autozone, explain your plight and get the right one
-or-
-order in the MP Brakes clevis - it is cast iron, and almost exactly one inch longer than the stock one...
The removal of the existing vac assist pedal rod would require disassembly of the booster, stay out of there unless you are highly experienced...
Better yet, take this oppurtunity to install our hydraulic brake assist system!

Just looking in the ZIP catalog, there is a booster for 64-67, 68-76, & 77-82. I wonder if some genious ordered you up a wrong part at Autozone.
Maybe you should go back to them and compare your original to what they gave to you.
Anyways I'm following your story holding my breath since Im getting ready to do the same booster replacement job.
Also for Hydroboost, I would consider this down the road, but today have to limit the fundage. The wifey in still a full time student.
Maybe someday a hydroboost and steeroids set-up
