Default 71 4-speed shift feel and pressure question.

Hey guys. I have never owned a 4 speed Vette until now and all I can is WOW. What fun! I have a question though about how it shifts and feels. It feels somewhat hard to shift into (not out of) gear at times. Sort of like it goes into gear but there only seems to be one click or clunk as I downshift into 2nd or 1st. If I don't get the solid two clunks it will pop out of gear back into nuetral. Maybe I'm being to gentle. When I am forceful it goes into to gear okay. I have been told this is pretty normal for the M21 tranny. Perhaps I need to lubricate the shift linkage. Your thoughts please folks!

My 67 firebird with a M-21 had similar problems and it needed to be rebuilt.bushings and linkage. Lubrication may be all that you need though......
