Default Will a Victor Junior fit?

I'm building a 406, and would like to use the victor junior, or rpm air-gap manifold, and I know the rpm air-gap can be made to fit, but is there anyway to fit the victor jr.? They say its good for low hood clearance?

I would be using it with a Holley 750, and could mill the choke tower if needed, and a drop base filter.

Anyone done this?

Thanks!

The Victor Jr. is approx. the same height as the Performer RPM... so - it will fit under a stock hood if you are using a drop base air filter setup..

P.S. I didn't have to mill down the choke tower because I purchased the HP series Holley 750 double pumper mech. secondaries 80528. This carb comes without a choke tower..

Thanks Oliver, are you using the Victor Jr.? I know you don't have a stock hood, but how are clearance issues?

Well - I have the tilt front which has a 74 - 77 style hood integrated.. The height is the same as on any regular 74 - 77 Vette... I don't have a Victor Jr.. but my setup is 1/4 inch HIGHER than a Victor Jr.
My intake is actually 1/4 lower than a Victor Jr, but I use a 1/2 inch spacer..
I still have 1/4 of hood clearance left

Olivier

P.S. My intake is the first spider style intake that Edelbrock produced (Tarantula TM-1) which is the HP version of the original Torker. This intake later became the "SCORPION" and then the Victor Jr.

Hmmm, all good information, what aircleaner are you using, and where can I get one? Would I probably be better off with the Victor? As opposed to the RPM Air-Gap?

I personally wouldn't even consider a dual plane intake.. I prefer single plane intakes...like the Victor Jr..

I used the 14" 2 1/4 inch tall K&N filter that I bought at Summit .. on a drop base setup that I purchased at Discount Auto Parts (Holley 14" Air Filter)..

I forget who. But someone on this site had a great method. I used it and it worked great.
Place clay or play dough on top of your air cleaner. Carefully close the hood and measure the thickness of the compressed clay.

Thats exactly how much room you have to play with.

Well - I haven't measured it exactly.. but it looks like a 1 1/4 inch drop base.. Any Discount Auto Parts should have this Holley air filter with the drop base...
(it comes with a 3 inch paper element which I exchanged with the 2 1/4 inch K&N element)
