Default AIR Exhaust Manifold Injection Tubes R&R

What are the chances of getting those AIR manifold injection tubes out without major misery? I have flare wrenches. Also if anyone has an NOS or repro set I would be interested.

Lots and lots of PB Blaster. And a good set of flare wrenches. I'd say about 80% or greater.

The ones in my '69 came out...all but one. And that was after bubba had mangled them. I went with headers when I saw the damage bubba had done.

flare wrenches suck IMO, they're good for one thing.. rounding off rusted up flares. If you are not going to reuse them I suggest the good old vise grips.

If I am able to locate a new pair for a reasonable price they are not going back in. So Bubba grips may be an option. And at my age I should know how penetrating oil such as PB gets into those threads but I do not. How does it work its way in?

GMPartsDirect.com had the tubes to fit my Doug Thorley headers - not what you need but great price and fit/condition. Local chevy dealer should have correct part number for your maifolds.
Once you have the new tubes in hand you can cut and destroy (or Dremel) the tubing to use a six point on the nuts. :nono: Wait till you have the new tubes. :yesnod:
