Will an Airgap Intake fit???
Im thinking of going with an Airgap intake from edlebrock, but there is one problem. I dont know if i can fit one under my hood. I have a 79 with a stock hood, and i have a holley 650 dp with a drop base 14" aircleaner(drop is 3/4") What do you guys think?

The "Performer" should fit. The "RPM" might fit. Clink69 got the "RPM" (taller one) to fit under his stock '69 small block hood which has less clearance than your hood. He's using the 350/350 original drop base aircleaner.

Yes RPM Airgap will fit, but you need 2" drop base to run a 3 x 14 filter. I also ran a K&N extreme lid. Also the Choke tower will ride too high in the cleaner so you might want to consider milling the tower (removing it). You don't really need a choke anyway.. I have an old post of this I have referred to a couple dozen times now. Which they would make it a permanent post somehow. Look for archived post of mine keywords "arigap fit"
for the performer airgap the 3/4 dropbase might be enough, but why restrict performance so much.

It will not fit with a drop base of only 3/4 inch. I think Cink69 uses a drop base from an LT-1, the drop is definately more than 3/4 inch, its more like 1.5 or 2 inches.

My setup would work too..
I used a 1 1/4 inch drop base from a cheapo Holley air filter (around $20 at Discount Auto Parts) and a $40 2 1/4 inch K&N filter) and my intake + spacer setup is even higher than a RPM Air Gap...
My setup flows enough air to feed a engine in the high 400's HP range...
