Hydratech brake booster on the way (any suggestions)
My Hydratech brake booster is on the way
http://hydroboost.com/index.html
Any instalation suggestions you guys would have before I jump into it? I figured since everything on that side of the fire wall was already off I might as well replace the booster. And with the big block it'll give me plenty of clearence for the valve covers.

Re: Hydratech brake booster on the way (Monkeywrench)
I would take the 4 studs that come with the unit and install them in the firewall. They fit right into the existing holes and any future removal of the unit is extremely simple once these studs are installed. The studs are easy to start from under the dash and use a large nut, a washer and the proper nut to install them in the fire wall.
You might think that you will never agian need to pull the unit but if you ever have to replace a head with the motor in the car you might find it is nicer to pull the unit or for any reason it makes the unit so easy to replace.
I do not think it makes a neater installation by not seeing the 4 nuts on the engine side of the firewall. To me anything that makes future work on the car easier is better.
You will definitely like the hydraboost braking system. It is extremely powerful, compact and usually fool proof.
Good luck with the unit.

Re: Hydratech brake booster on the way (norvalwilhelm)
Thanks Norval,
That's the type of suggestions I was looking for. I agree that trying to remove this unit once it's in will be a royal pain. I'll look into your suggestion of moutnig the studs first.
Thanks!

Hi Norval,
I'm about to do this install and would like to follow your advice. The studs on the HB mounting plate are tightly installed on the plate. Any tips on how to bust 'em loose?
