Dream Car Garage...69 L-88 Restoration
I know this may be a rehash, but if you can get Speedvision, you need to watch Dream Car Garage this year. They are taking a 69 L-88 and gonna restore and modify it.(Restify) They are pulling the L-88 motor and making it a stroker, per the owner, stripping the paint and installing new door glass. Who knows what else. This, to me, is one of the best car shows on television. They crack me up.
One of the members on here has a car done by these guys.
Check out the link for the show.

Are they stroking the L88 or building another BB stroker? Seems to me to be sacriligeous to stroke the real thing.

They did mention that the car needed to look NCRS, so they are not changing the heads. I would assume the block stays. Ouch.

I would assume that they are using the current block but I would guess that the block is a correctly dated replacement. Also I talked to Tom at DCG a month ago and the HP # was closer to 650 !

I caught the first episode last week and the short segment...they did a nice job of presenting the project. It's unfortunate they will dribble the project out over several weeks but thats TV and sponsors and why we keep coming back.
They do need to get their episode and schedule current! November 2002 is a little dated.

I love Vettes, more than you could believe, but that lamborghini was flat out sweet!!! I wish I had one of those, I also wish I had a nice new Z06, and a 69 big block, and a '67 vette and on and on an on.

What's the big deal about stroking the original motor? You'd never know as long as the visible parts are correct. I say more power to him. He'll have a NCRS car with more power.

I think it is a neat car, but honestly, an L88 is not a good driver! Too stripped down. Should be find for a drive every few weeks though. The sidepipes sound great on it though.

I watched that show. They said the car was stolen from the original owner and the insurance company would pay to replace the engine. So it sounds like the car doesn't have it's original engine. :chevy

I watched it this morning. I'd like to see them spend more time showing what theyr'e doing instead of small bits. Be interested to see what they end up with in hp and torque.
