Re: 1968 Gear ratio's? (72Shark)
My numbers boos shows the following rear axle codes for 1968:
<BLOCKQUOTE>code:<HR><PRE>
3:36 AK
Posi 3:08 AL
Posi 3:36 AM
Posi 3:55 AN
Posi 3:70 AO
Posi 4:11 AP
3:70 AS
Posi 3:08 H.D. AT
Posi 3:08 H.D. AU
Posi 3:08 AV
Posi 3:08 H.D. AW
</PRE>[/QUOTE]
After 1970 no codes are listed without the pisitraction. So I guess the earlier years had an option for a non-posi rear end. I assume that the HD means Heavy Duty. Sorry, no info on any restrictions based on other car options but I would guess that the HD went with the 427 big block. The last two in the list also seem odd to me. I suspect a typo on the ratios (3:70, 4:11 ???)
