Default A few questions about side pipes...

Do your rear tires get hot from the exhaust gases?
Where, in relation to your rear tires, are the tips located? (How far in front of the tire? How far out from the side of the rim?)
THANKS!!!!!!! :seeya

Which type do you mean? Hookers or stock type? Click the link in my sig below to see the Hooker type. They do not affect the tires with any heat. The tips are located just behind the edge of the door. And the sidetube opening is about even, or just inside the outer edge of the rear tire.

I have heard some rumours about the same thing, that's why I designed mine so that the gas fumes don't get straight to the rear tires.

I'd love to add side pipes to my '81. Only problem is without a catalytic, my car wouldn't pass Illinois' annual emissions test.
