Default Installing a C4 suspension this summer.

I have looked at the various companies that offer kits and I will opt to install a C4 suspension, by far a cheaper proposition and the quality is great on the ones I have been looking at. I will document to process c/w cost + time factor for those of you whom are interested.

Are you installin both front and rear suspension? I'm staying tuned for this one. Only company I've seen doing it is the paul Newmans Car Creation and their prices were  :cry

Not needed, nor is R & P !!
Anyone interested in handling & FE-7 should see 77 Facts on my website.
Larger wheels & tires could be added to FE-7.
Handling is more than suspension parts, also depends on the driver !

What is included in FE7 package? I had some HD coil springs and koni shocks along the rebuild stock steering and the handling was terrible! :yesnod:

WOW!! Assume that you are not farming out the frame mods and doing them yourself? If so, what jig and/or template are you using?

I will take pics as I go, I watched and helped out last spring when a 65 vert was converted over. Will do it at my mechanics place as he has all of the tools and will walk me though the major steps. He has done it many times and prefers the C4 suspension over the Steeroids he has installed. I also help him with other cars while I am here so it works out well for both of us. Last summer he showed me how to assemble my 383 stroker and didn't charge me anything to do it, I just helped on other cars that he was working on.

Way cool!!! Can't wait to see your progress.

Are you going to get the suspension parts from a donor car or new?

groovyjay

FE-7 Larger Front sway bar 1 1/8 " & adds Rear 7/16" bar. Stiffer springs & HD shocks.
Were your coils 550 (FE-7)? GKull has a similiar setup on 79 & has done many excellent posts on it. We have not discussed it as we are both fine, seems he has a larger rear bar.

Thanks Ganey for the info, that's just the set up I used to have, I hated it with passion. I hope all the mods I've done so far will help me to have better handling. :yesnod:

That's what got me really thinking about it in the first place sort of a recurring theme but like always I will keep what is remaining of the original parts.

gdh that will be a very  mod to your car :yesnod: . I can't wait to hear the results. Is Orangeville anywhere near Toronto ? I'd almost be willing to take my car up there to have this mod done at some point :) .

I am 45 miutes from downtown Business District of Toronto. You don't need to go into To. as you could bypass that mess. If you have a map of Ontario, look for Brampton then look straight up highway 10 to highway 9 about 20 miles and there is Orangeville. :yesnod:

That will be sooooo awsome.. I have thought about that before... but it would have been way too expensive for me because I would have to pay somebody to do the work and it wouldn't be too cheap around here..

Uhm, C4 > light components, severe decrease in unsprung weight, superior design, only downside is the fact that the upper arm is mounted on the outside of the bracket so you are limited in the amount of negative camber you can set there.

C3 > brick heavy parts, stone age design.

I know what my choice will be.
