You're selling it? After everything you've done to it? What's up?

The down load is slower b/c we just had to restart our server..
I'm selling it b/c I need something that I can drive everyday. Getting 8-10MPG doesn't really make me want to drive across town or anything. I wan't something with modern interior too. I'm fixing to get out into the real world (fixing to grad H.S.) and I need something I can drive every single day. I don't like driving the Vette every day. I'm always worried someone is going to hit or scratch it. So, I just figured I'd go ahead and get back to earth now. an 18y/o in a 350HP Vette doesn't really make sense right now. I'd aslo like a standard shift car. I'm 6.2'' and driving an auto makes my legs cramp since I never have to move. Anyways, I'm sure one day I'll get another one and do a frame off modification. Just not right now. It's all okay thought..

Nice car Aaron. Wish I had started with a '74 like that. Too bad my garage is filled with the old parts and new replacements.
It takes a lot of work to get a shark that well optioned. My bets it will sell fast.
How much??

Aaron....
You say you are graduating H.S..... what are your plans from there?
I hope you get what you are looking for on your vette by the way.

It's tough to be practical and still have fun ain't it? It's good to be sensible and have the fore-thought to realize that you need to make sacrifices but be sure you don't let it go too far...you still gotta have fun! :reddevil

Aaron,
I think you will regret selling it.
For $6K, what are you looking to buy after the '74?
Couldn't you get a car loan for $8K and pick up another car? The pmts wouldn't be more than $200-$300 a month for 4 years???
You could then put the '74 aside until you build up more interest in it again.....
What do you think?

30, 40 years down the road you'll wish you had your Corvette again, especially since it'll be worth $30-40 thousand. Either invest in a $1000 "beater" or a fuel injection setup to boost your mileage. Maybe you can get a loan from a relative or something and put the car towards it as collateral and pay it off in a year or two and get your car back.

By all means, keep it if you can. I drove a '76 coupe throughout my last two years of undergraduate and graduate school, and purchased a nice used car after landing my first job so I could keep the 'Vette. Sure, everyone else right out of college had a newer daily driver. But nobody else had a VETTE (or two cars for that matter)! :hurray:

Aaron it looks like you have your head on straight. Being only 18 & knowing to take a practicle way towards life even if it's against your current wishes takes a lot of maturity from someone regardless of their age. I wish you well & good luck on selling your car :) .

Thanks, Smoked...I don't really want to sell it. But it's just something i'm going to have to do. But, before I do I'm going to have to rebuild the motor. Coolant is slowly leaking into thy cylinder #5. I'm going to buy the re-build kit off summit for 300.00$. That will take me about 2-3 weeks to do. And after I get it back together I'm just going to cruise around with my cell number on the back and wait for people to call. People ask me if it's for sale all the time and I've always told them no...but, after I get the motor rebuilt I'll probably get rid of it really fast.
