I was "playing" with a C5 (me in my '73) on the Interstate last Sunday and we were cruising around 95 or so (my speedo needle bounces a lot). That's actually the fastest I have taken it. :steering:

Between my tire size, OD gear & rear ratio I come up with 199mph at 6500rpms :eek: . I have not yet tried it out though, too scared ;) .

Fastest Ive been so far was 125, that was at just over 4500rpm. I was fairly light on the gas pedal too if I feel the need to redline it I should be around 160 with my current tranny and rear gears.

With my gearing and power the car would be capable of 200 mph but by 140 mpg the front is getting so light that I chicken out or wise up and let off. My car is not safe even at the 140.

145 mph going up a big hill, those in Toronto area will know of Caledon hill, was still pulling strong but with S (15" T/A's) rated tires and the sound of a bloody hurricane all around me I let off.

135 with the 3:08 and tsill had some left......Less with the 3:73 but gets there quicker :reddevil .....These cars are not great at high speed so once was enough for me. I would rather go 0-100 quickly
