Default Just added sidepipes!!

Now, what do I do about filling the two half moon shaped places where the original exhaust exited? Are there inserts that I can buy? Or, does something have to be fabricated?

Guessing they are still available, but you used to be able to buy a rear insert panel that you could bolt in to cover the holes. You'd still have to have someone fiberglass match it in to make it appear like the inserts were not ever there and shoot that section to match your car color. Someone correct me if I am wrong.

I just bought a used replacement rear valance that has no holes for sidepipe cars. I believe somewhere like the big Vett suppliers must sell these?

Most all the corvette suppliers carry rear exhaust valances without the cutouts for side pipe cars.

I checked around......The part (rear valence) which exists for cars that were manufactured with sidepipes does not completely cover the holes for cars that came with rear exhaust. half of each opening would still be exposed.

If you are aware of an aftermarket part made specifically for a car like mine, one where sidepipes were added, then please tell me where to get it.

78Vette-SA Thanks...yours are mighty sharp as well.

A couple of months ago, there was a good article with pictures in one of the magizines about this subject. It was either Super Chevy or Chevy High Performance.

Last month Vette magazine had an article on how to fix and fill these holes in as well as replace the lower panel.

The standard fix is to replace the whole valance with the design that has the extra section hanging off the end, to fill in the half of the cut-out in the fender. With some work, one could make their own inserts that just filled the opening and left the stock valance, but I don't think they are available commercially. The factory side exhaust rear valance does not cover all of the opening, as mentioned in other posts.

Corey...

Post a pic and information on exactly what you did to fill in the holes. I did not see a 69 rear valance on your posting that would completely cover the holes...
