What have you done to your car that was most satisfying?
I was thinking about that when replying to another post. I've done a lot of stuff, and a lot was major stuff to this car. The most personally satisfying was trouble-shooting the vacuum system for the lights and they worked when I got through. Big stuff, like a new engine or something is fun when you're driving, but I think the biggest sense of accomplishnent I've had with this particular car was just fixing the head lights. :yesnod:

Engine Swap!! It was my first big project with the car. It turned out to be fairly fun, and I learned alot along the way.

I have to say... the paint. It had one repaint and that wasn't very good. So Three of us did a sand all of the old paint off, prime, block and paint, 600-1200 wets sand and buff.

after the rear was rebuilt...then after it was rebuilt again...
But hopefully this next fall/winter i'll be dropping in an AR 383, so that will be the best when it's in :D

Taking it out of the hands of the moron that trashed it within an inch of its life and putting it back on the road where it can be admired the way all Corvettes deserve to be :yesnod:

Finally coming across the ONE vette that I could work on without any compunction or guilt, modify to my desires, mechanically; and have a totally custom hotrod...someone else did the boring body work to a nice job....
so that left me with doing all the obvious updates to the mechanicals....
loved every minit of it.....not allways swooning with glee over the immediate results, but never the less, going forward....it's a hotrod, born that way in Stl Louis, and 30 years later, nothing is changed....except like all hotrods...just faster...

I'd have to say that the paint job was the most satisfying. I've done just about everything you can do on the car but the paint is what people see first. Next on the list would be the engine which I'm still doing. I guess it's always going to be a work in progress.

I have enjoyed almost every little improvement along the way. The new stereo, steering wheel, and shifter make the car alot more fun for me. :)

My two most satisfying things are when I replaced the body mounts and changed the valve stem seals. :hurray:

Hopefully I'll finish it this coming weekend..
Rebuilt motor, top to bottom, headers, too.
Rebuilt transmission, upgraded hard parts
Rebuilt suspension, poly all around, new shocks..
I pulled the motor in October.. so it's been about 5 months total that I've been working on it and I'll have pretty much a new car!

The first drive after having the frame off the car. After that I would say thrashing it on the strip. I have rebuilt many systems and a few cars and it is always the first drive of satisfaction knowing a job is well done. All tha thard work has paid off.
