Default Question for the drag racers

When does the clock start? Is it when the light turns green or when your front tires cross a certain point on the track? I'm wondering if someone that has a 1.7 reaction time and runs a 15.2 would have run faster if their reaction time were faster.

Sorry if this is a stupid question...I've never raced before so I have no idea how it works.

THANKS!

when you break the beams. Reaction time has nothing to do with your 15 second E-t.

The clock starts when you break the beam. But the winner is the one who gets to the finish line first. So you can run a faster ET, have a slower reaction time, and loose to someone with a slower ET but quicker reaction time.
