A sore subject possibly, but "How much have you spent so far on your C-3"?
I just had my vette picked up this afternoon by a mechanic to get all of the major work done that I just don't have the time to do(or cannot do). $650 is alot of money to many of us who are hoping that they can have their vette on the streets within the next decade, but by all standards that is very cheap to do what this mechanic is doing. I just furnish the parts.
So... the vette is gone and I decided what the heck and added up what I have into this project so far. $21,400 and still counting and still not running. And tomorrow I am buying a MSD HEI distributor, MSD coil, March pulleys, Weiand Team-G waterpump, high output fuel pump, braided fuel line, K&N x-stream drop filter system & a Perma-cool fan. Those parts along with the $650 put the total at around $23,000. And not even a show car.... but it should semi-bougetty-bougetty(burn the hell out of tires to be more clear).
Fess up! How much have you dumped into your C-3!

I paid $11,000 for my C3 in June. I spent this much because I wanted a car that I didnt have to do any work to. After 6 months of driving a great car, I decided that it could be better. I have a new motor, headers and sidepipes on the way. If I add it up right now I have about $16,000 on a car that is in pieces in my garage. My wife is ready to kill me!!!!!

Let's let that sleeping dog lie, my wife might read this!
But on the other hand I'm already deeper than you, and even deeper if you count the El Camino I'm finishing up!

Including the cost of the car, I have 25K invested. Why am I still smiling? If I had to explain, you wouldn't understand! :D

I know the feeling well. Sometime ago, I bought a car the seller said needed nothing. He gave me $23K in receipts.
I have since piled on another $10K in receipts.

My mom was the original owner of my 73. I was given the car in 1999. Since then I have put a tad over $24K into it.
On the bright side, I have recently been working on refinishing the exterior. I am just about ready to put primer on it and paint will soon follow. And then it will be done.
It is basically a new car.
In my case its a matter of the car being in my family for all its life. And it will remain in the family for the remainder of its life.

There's an old saying pertaining to how much money a person spends to maintain his/her corvette: " Open the driver side door and shovel in money until the car is completely full and slam the door closed....you will then maybe have enough money"

Paid 2K for the car and have spent about another 4K on paint, brakes, interior, tires, exhaust. Still need to get the A/C working and a little detailing under the hood. Wouldn't hesitate to drive it anywhere.

About $100 so far, but then I've got a few thousand to sink into exhaust, suspension, and transmission in the next couple months.

I'm still trying to rationalise how a sane person can buy a pretty good car(needing paint)take out a throughly usable engine, spend $10K on engine parts, god alone knows how much on all the other bits and still have a 74R that needs painting...if somebody ever finds out, please let me know why i did this......possibly because it is the most fun you can have with your clothes on...john ;) ;) ;) ;) ;)
