Default Fouled plug - part three

Well, the heads are off, and the valves at the #1 cylinder are nasty to say the least. There was at least a spoon full of oil sitting on the intake valve. The inner springs on both the intake and exhaust valves were broke and had chewed on the seals. ( but they were still in place) I have found another inner spring broke on the passenger side head, but I have only just started to check all of them.

Now my dilema. Use this as an excuse to buy better heads (leaning toward AFR 190's) or replace the springs and seals and save the money? These heads are the SR torquers with manley valves 2.02/1.60.

What causes those springs to break anyway? Cheap?
