Is there a difference in it and my original Rochester Q-jet since your car is a 4 speed and mine an auto?
anybody know?

There are minor differences... The Manual carb may not have the transmission cable arms (TH350) or the detent bracket (TH400), Also the power piston spring is different since the Automatic idles in gear with less vacuum. If they were the same GM wouldn't make two versions.

Hey SIGNGUY, I just ordered a new Edelbrock too. I posted some questions but maybe you can help me. Did you have a problem clearing the manifold fitting at the rear of the carb (the one that feeds the headlamps and heater controls)? Also, how did you connect up the line for the power brake booster. The old Q-Jet had a fitting in the rear. Does the Edelbrock have something similar? Would appreciate any help you can give. Pics would be a real bonus. Thanks.

Did it make a difference? What model? I want to do the same in the spring.

the 750 cfm IMO was too much for the engine...
it seems to run better when getting less fuel...
the Edelbrock is a 600...

the carb is the 1406 model...
everything hooked up just fine and the carb had the brake booster hole in the back too...and the fitting from the Q-Jet screwed right in...
if you are using one with the stock intake im afraid that i can not be much help...sorry
if you can afford the Performer tho, i would highly recomend it with that carb...i got my intake at auto zone for $110 which was cheaper than summit...
i also bout my carb there and it was $250...
but i think you can save a little buying the two in a set...

Re: Lars rebuilt Q-jet for sale (SIGNGUY)
Thanks SIGNGUY, that helps a lot. I bought the Professional Products polished manifold which is an exact duplicate of the 2101 and as far as I can tell the Thunder series Edelbrock is the same as the 1406 with the exception of having an adjustable secondary air valve so I think it will be a slam dunk. Thanks for the help.
