Default What is this wire for?

I have a yellow or orange wire that is attached to the horn relay and runs back along fire wall over to a relay on the front of the heater and a/c. What is it for?

BB, there is an inline fuse right by the horn relay. It looks like somebody pulled a bubba and I was wondering if this was correct from the factory or added on for some reason. I plan on wrapping it wiht electrical tape and making it look better. Thanks for the great replies!

I am a junior member because I , in a moment of weakness, quit the Forum two days ago. I had a falling out with a lot of great fellow Corvette owners here in town and got bummed out over it. Thought I'd sell the car and just move on. My good wife jerked me back to reality but I lost my good standing on the Forum. I think I had over 800 posts or so! I wish there was a way to get them back. Oh well, life goes on!

It is likely power windows or AC, I don’t remember, without looking in a book, which it is, but I do remember that the factory did install an inline fuse near the horn relay. (At least in 1969.)

Edit: I looked on your profile to see what year car you had. Anyway you are two years older that me and retired. What gives? I must have screwed up as I still work 50 hours a week.

I redid the AC harness on my old 71 and there was an orange wire with inline fuse that went to the horn relay. If your car has AC this should be factory.
