did vacuum test to check for leaking intake...
slight pressure in crankcase. here i was convinced that the intake was leaking  i'm sure glad i did the test, rather than spend all morning changing gaskets.
i could do this test even without a vacuum gauge. after the breather and PCV are taped over the tape bulged with the pressure, after it was hot enough to soften the tape.
In case you skipped class that day, this test is to track down unusual oil use and or smoke.
Next test? In my case i used 2 dubious oil seals when i built the heads, i will pull the plugs and see if those cyl's look worse than those with fel-pro seals. :steering:
