79 Vette L82... how much can I get for it?
My dad's got a 79 T-top Vette w/an L82. Its got 34k original miles, automatic, metallic brown ext w/tan leather int, Brand new entire front brake system, all new bushings/etc in suspension, meticulously maintained. The only problems are some scratches in the paint, and the bottom of the rear fenders have one 2" crack in each of them (the car slipped off ramps).
Right now it's got a tranny problem, but we're going to fix that before spring. Otherwise it's in perfect running condition, all original too.
How much could he get for it? I tried Blue Booking it, but the website only goes back 20 years...
Thanks a lot!!

How large are the cracks? Does the front end look like it has been damaged? 1979 had the most Corvettes produced, so not very rare. I'd say that the brown paint detracts from the value, but the L82 adds. There are other sources that will tell you the value of your car, but I'd say that it might be worth between 8-10k if it is in really good condition.

79VetteMike - the cracks are about 2" long... and the only damage to the front end is some bubbles in the paint - its never been in an accident or anything... what are some of the places to value the car?
