Default RWHP on 427/425 Vettes

Just curious does anyone know what RWHP dyno readings you would get with a stock 66 or 67 427/425 or 427/435 Vette?

425 or 435 is Gross HP. The NET HP can't be determined without knowing the accessories pulling a load on the engine. Guess 15 loss..
Then convert Net -> RWHP loss 18% drivetrain. These are cumulative losses.
425 x .85 = 361.25
361.25 x .82 = 296.225 RWHP. But thats just a guess..

:iagree: I'd use 20% parasitic loss for a TH400 and 18% for a 4speed. The cars built today are a little more efficient with 15% loss for the 6 speeds.

Not that it matters but I remember someone posting here about a 425/454 LS6 dynoing ~320 at Carlisle.

most had 385-390 at the flywheel with all accessaries hooked up. Figure loss from everything else from there.

I agree with these figures, there can even be more losses, up to 25% or more between the Gross and Net HP figures, but these numbers are a good baseline.
