Any experiences with Kumho tires?
Kumho tires are so inexpensive it makes me wonder if they are simply 'cheap tires'. I can't help but think you get what you pay for. What I would like to hear is somebody write "I have Kumho tires and for the price they are fantastic!" Specifically I am looking at the Kumho ECSTAKH11 235/60WR16 for $60.00 a piece at tirerack.com. Anybody ever try a set of Kumhos?

I've had a set on my Jeep Cherokee for about three years now. Probably put 30,000 on them so far. No problems

They are pretty good, really good when you compute the price. I wouldn't buy them for high performance applications, but they are certainly good enough for any drivers, or if you don't want to pay for top quality rubber they should be just fine for your Corvette.

I bought a set of Kuhmos for my vette last summer right before my trip out to BG/ for the Cruise in. I couldnt be happier!!! They were so cheap that I figured if I ended up not liking them, or trusting them, I could afford to let them sit in the garage.
After putting better than 7000 miles on them, and numerous trips down the quarter mile... I couldnt be happier. They are alot quieter than my old Eagle ST's wear like steel (yes those are the kumos that I'm burning up in my sig pic.) and are pretty damn sticky to boot. (my short times went from 2.1's with the eagles to 1.9's with the Kuhmos)
As it is right now...When these are finally bald I will buy another set!!! :D

I have a set on my 93 Z28 Extsa Supra's, and have had nothing but prolblems getting them to hook up on the strip. However on the curves it has not problems sticking. Go figure, The tires are super hard rubber for a Z rated tire. I have better luck hooking up with Firestone Firehawk SZ 50's.
I just put a set of the Kuhmo SUV tires on my blazer. I can't say how well I lke them yet because I still have the crappy goodyear eagal ls tires on the front. but they seem to handle themselves pretty decent and have a very high treadwear rating for a sporty tire.

I just put a set on my wife's SLK-230, I wasn't about to put another set of Pilot Sports on the damned car, she had already worn out 2 sets in less than 30K miles!
The Kumho's seem to ride and handle the road great, they are much better in the rain than the Pilot Sport's at less than half the price.

I think kumho is one of the best kept secrets... Great tires for very little money. I ran their autocross tires (victoracers) on my Z28 a few years back and they were great. Lasted a long time and stuck like crazy. Also very forgiving when pushed too far where the previous yokohama race tires would just spin out.

How much are they? I put Firestone Firehawk SS20's on my 74 because of the price vs. performance ratio.

I'm running ECSTA Supra 712 255/50WR16's, and I like them very much. They seem to be wearing very well, and they stick well. I've talked to autocrossers, and the consensus is that the Kumhos offer great performance for the dollar. You can get better performance from other tires, but they cost several times more. I'll stick with the Kuhmos.

The TireRack has the specks on them and Kumho has its own site. They're good looking tires.

Ectsa supra 712 are really good tire for the price. I've done drag racing and autocross with good result. You could find better but at a greater price. As a bonus, they handle really great in the wet.
