How does a rear spring wear out?
Can a low-mileage C3 have a worn-out rear spring? (In other words, can a rear spring flatten out just from sitting around?) Or does the car have to be driven to wear that sucker out?
Just wondering...mine's perfect. Maybe even a bit on the high side after I removed the tire. Put it sits OK when I'm in it.

Take a long piece of sheet metal, rest it on two pieces of concrete and stand on it. Then jump on it.
In either case, the sheet metal is going to bend, but the jumping on it will exert it more.
So, answering your question- just sitting around the spring can lose force, but driving the car will wear it out faster. Especially race drivin'! :)
I'm going to replace mine w/ a 360# monospring in the next week or two.
