Two things I saw it a shop I liked was an overhead hand crane for pulling eng's and air plumbed to multiple locations so you don't have to drag a hose all over.

I'm holding out for a really BIG one. Oh, and Heater-A/C for sure, killer lighting (for us blind old men), a good air compressor, ventilation, and a hoist of some sort. Oh, and some sort of house with a shower and restroom on the property someplace...

I'm more interested in a supplier/manufacturer then what is going in the shop. I already have ideas and plenty of toys.

Gulf States.

And to add to my reply in the other thread, don't forget to have some sort of sound deadening material applied. We have blown on insulation to act as a sound deadener. It works great... even during hailstorms.

Dave,
Are you thinking about something along the lines of a steel framed metal walled unit? There are about 1/2 dozen small businesses putting these things up down here in Victoria. A guy I know just put one in and has been really pleased with the results. His looks good enough that I'm thinking about one for a personal retirement home.
My idea is to get a few acres outside of town, put up about a 40'x80'x20' high barn. Frame in one end of it for a 2 story apartment about 40'x20'x20'. 25% of the room for me and 75% for my toys. I figure 40x60 is plenty room for my vehicles and what not.
Another guy I know has an uncle that has one up on Inks Lake, when you drive up to the place it looks like a regular house. He has the narrow end pointing toward the approach. It is covered with brick verneer, has a front porch and dormer windows on the upper story. He even has a balconey on the upstairs bedroom that looks out into the shop. I've only seen pictures but it does sound pretty cool to me.

Which manufacturer did he go with and what sort of options did he get?

You are going to be in heaven with that building - enough room for automotive collection, wood shop, metal shop, and a sports bar!

I already envy you.

That looks like a great quote on the building, it would certainly come in a lot higher then that in the Chicago area! I would assume it does not include concrete or assembly? A few suggestions: don't chince on the wiring. Get a good heavy duty power service and panel (200 amp). Install floor heat if you are in an area where heating is required. If you do the floor heat, leave a spot where you could add the cylinder for a car lift someday. Up the R-10 roof insulation to R-30 if it is available.
