Default advice please on a new leafspring

I need a new leaf spring for my 79 Vette. Do I get fiberglass or the same kind that's on there now. Price difference is 50% more for the fiberglass. Help! Thanks. :steering:

It might be quite a bit more depending on your shocks. Many here have Bilstein sport shocks to tame the bounciness of the firbreglass springs, others have KYG, Koni's etc. So you may have to factor in much these as well whereas getting another 7 or 9 leaf spring you maybe able to keep your existing shocks. I guess what I am trying to say is that the rear leafspring is only 1 component of a good matched suspension system that can be tailored for many different needs and uses.

I've been wondering the same thing. The composite spring is bound to be lighter, but other than that is there any other advantage to this set up ?

Given the proper shocks the ride will be improved as well as handling.
