Headlight vacuum cans
Has anyone ever rebuilt headlight vacuum cans? I've seen kits offered by some of the parts suppliers and wonder if its worth the trouble or if its possible for the average Joe to do it and and have them work.

The kits are for the front seals, which do tend to crack & leak & so could well be the problem. The inner seals can't be replaced (or at least nobody I know of sells the seals). It's an easy project, an hour tops & will probably fix your problem IF the problem is the cans and not the relays, which also tend to crap out because of seal leakage. There are at least two papers on how to do it at http://www.corvettefaq.com in the "misc" section.

Re: Headlight vacuum cans (max125)
Are you talking about the vacuum tank that's located in the nose between the lights or the headlight actuators that actually operate the opening and closing of the headlights? I've seen kits for the actuators but not the tank. I remember seeing a post about building your own tank. The tanks tend to rust from what I've read. I don't have a tank on my car (currently looking for one, cheap!). If you find a kit for the tank, please post where you found it.
