After driving my 4 speed vette for a while now, going to a high performance auto in my Formula feels down weird. Having it shift on it's own feels weird, having the torq conv cylc on and off feels weird, and just not being able to down shift to any gear feels weird. Any one else get that feeling when switching to a high performance auto tranny'd car?

Put a a Trans Go shift programmer kit in it and it will change your mind :reddevil

There is some sort of shift kit in already, gives a nice head snap when shifting. Guess I just feel more in control with a stick.

Probably but with a transgo you can downshift into any gear and it barks second and chirps third :reddevil ...don't get me wrong I like 4 speeds but some auto's are just as fun IMHO

I like both. You need to get the lockup converter under control. I drive better than the computer.

I have a programable one and am just starting to play with it. It doesn't cyl that much but it may be I am just not used to feeling it so strongly, my Sonoma has one but I don't feel it when it locks up.

Haven't been able to really drive it much or hard since we have had snow and/or salt on the roads everyday since I bought. The tires break loose pretty easy from the salt residue and I have not drove it when it's wet/snowy.

Wait till you have to panic stop. I almost kicked a hole in the floor by reflex trying to hit the clutch that wasn't there in the automatic!

Lucky my dd is an auto. I once drove a semi for a guy I was working for and ran a stop sign cuz I was trying to stop without pushing the clutch. Was during a snow storm so I had a real bad mix of stuff going, lucky I didn't hit anyone.
