Chucking my Old Dana 44, TH350C and X-member...
I've had the old drivetrain components from my C3 sitting on the floor and shelves of my garage since I performed major surgery back in 2001 (installed 700R4, fresh Dana 44 with 3.54's).
I've tried several times unsuccessfully to sell them or even give them away without success. Now, it is a decision between leaving the C5 in the driveway or moving the old parts out so that we can park all three cars in the garage (C3, C5 and wife's Acura). The motorcycle leaves for a new home Tuesday evening.
The parts that I am clearing out for lack of space:
Orig 80-81 Dana 44 for Automatic with 3.08
TH350C with torque converter, slip yoke, dipstick and vacuum line
TH350 cross-member
I am going to call a trans shop to see about getting some sort of core value for the transmission and a gear shop to see if they are willing to pay for the rebuildable differential. If neither is interested enough to pay for the parts, I may just choose to give to them.
I don't contemplate EVER using that tired TH350C as a rebuild project and same goes for the orig Dana 44 with 3.08's (I have a fresh Dana 44 with 3.54's).
A fella offered to pick up the TH350C a few months back when I offered it for free but never showed. I'm not even going to bother with trying to sell and ship as both are pretty greasy (UPS probably would refuse them).
I'm open to suggestions on places to take them where I may get some $$$ for them.

Ted,
If it comes to you just giving away the diff and tranny let me know, I'll drive up and take them off your hands. Try to get some $$$ for them first though, as I don't have any left :cry

Ted,
Have you any idea how much it would cost to stick the Dana in a box & ship it via USPS (NOT airmail!!!) to the UK? If the cost isn't to bad I'd be very interested in it for my '81.
Thanks
Paul

Is it the same Dana 44 that is in a C4? I have a 93 with a D36 that I need to upgrade to a 44. If it is the same one how much do you want for it??
edit: I also sent you an IM

I'm investigating a differential core exchange with VanSteel and/or others here locally to allow me to buy some rebuilt steering parts. Will advise if that option falls through.
Regardless, the trans and diff will sell/give away locally as I can't ship as they are pretty grimy and UPS will not take them in current condition.
Sorry for not making that clear.
