Default question for car cover owners

i realize that a car cover has to breathe and that it can not be 100% waterproof, but how much moisture is typical to penetrate after a night of rain? i have the covercraft weathershield cover which is the most expensive one on the market as far as i know.

I don't know if a car cover is such a good idea, for outside storage. I realize it is the better of two evils, no car cover at all, but I'm just wondering about things like mildew. Not sure if that would be a concearn though, just my opinon.

The best thing about outside covers is uv protection, your car will still eventually get wet and dirty. I used to cover my black Fiero with a top of the line wolf evolution 4 cover and it looked like crap after a few days in the weather

Even the best covers let quite a bit of moisture in. I've put my cover on and parked the car in the rain and when I took it off I had a lot of drying to do.

I thought you were getting one of those Costco portable carports.

I just picked up a used one for $70.00. Works as good as new.

You are right, if moisture isn't allowed to evaporate after a rainstorm, the car will eventually be covered in mildew, inside and out. I went to look at a 66 Nova convertible that was stored outside with a plastic tarp over it for only one year, and it was a disaster! Joe
