Just wonder ring about hydro lifters.
If a cam advertises .440 lift, what is the true lift from a hydraulic lifter. Does it loose lift from the lifter collapsing and if so how much? My cam list .440 lift intake and .454 exhaust. Not to worried about it but just thought I ask.

since H-flat have Zero lash the lift if your rockers have a true 1.52 ratio you should be in the ball park. I always ran 1.6 CC roller tips. I was always thinking about that few extra HP.

Hello redwing,
Its more complicated science than I'd want to try to explain and depends alot on your adjustment method/lifter preload. Lifter pump up and bleed down affect/determine valve lift. David Vizard (the wizard) describes the why and how to adjustment in his book - Chevy small blocks on a budget. What I mean is that I'd only screw up his know how and how to. Really enjoyed his book and shure anyone else will thats gone or going through thier small block.
Enjoy :yesnod:
