Default [eBay]Hi Performance Heads!

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=33617

I had to laugh when I saw this one. A set of "049" big block Chevy heads. These heads do have the largest cast exhaust port of any of the big block Chevy Iron Ovals. So they are a nice set of heads IF you have some port work and larger valves installed. It's just what he says in ad that makes me laugh .

THESE ARE AWESOME CYLINDER HEADS,EXTREMELY CLEAN,HARD TO FIND,THESE WENT 9.90 IN THE 1/4 ON A 468 BBC!!WITH THE STOCK SIZE VALVES IN THEM!!MY RESERVE IS 250.00
Hard to find? 9.90s down the 1/4 mile w/ stock valves (2.06/1.72)? How about 9.90s down the 1/8 mile :D...either that or the car the motor was in weighed 1500lbs. I wonder how many people are buying into this line?

At least he cleaned them prior to putting them on ebay. How many heads and engine parts have been on there full of grease grime and other ^&%$. :U

This is true. But I am still amazed at the amount of jargon people will feed you just to sell something. Why can't people accurately represent their product(s)?

I thought the 9.90 down the 1/4 mile was commical. Considering my heads have been heavily ported, bowls blended professionally, gasket matched, 2.19/1.88 valves, valves unshrouded, combustion chambers polished and the best I've been able to muster with my 468 was 12.40 down the 1/4 mile....that's a LONG way from 9.90s.

I'm really not sure, I know that the "049" heads are one of the better heads you can get. Of course their are the GM ROval heads. But as far as I know, the older casting oval port heads '74 and back had 2.06/1.72...I believe they left the 2.19/1.88 valves to the R-Port heads. I could be wrong though.
