Headlight Vacuum switch under dash near steering colum
What does the vacuum switch do and should it sound like a vacuum leak when it is pulled out. I think it has something to do with keeping the headlights up with the lights off.
Thanks for the help :seeya

You are correct, it is the headlight over-ride switch.
You shouldn't be hearing it. Does it open the headlights when you pull it down?

Will not open the headlights. I thinik i might have some vacuum lines in the wrong place will need to check. Was not sure how the switch should work.
Thanks :)

You're correct..It's a headlight switch overide. If you're hearing a vacuum hiss, the little valve is shot or maybe you have a broken line somewhere under the dash. These are fairly easy to find if you use a puffer, or some incense, and watch the trail of the smoke. It will draw to wherever you have the leak. Or...like you mentioned, you may have a line crossed somewhere. Good Luck in your hunt..
