DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH RON CONRAD IN THE KANSAS CITY MISSOURI AREA.

The following link was the beginning of this story, now I will tell the rest since Ron does not seem to have any intention of correcting this situation.

I purchased a set of T-tops from RON CONRAD back in November. After two months, I had not received the tops. I was able to track him down through a registered letter. I found that he was going through a divorce and had moved. I felt sorry for him and his situation so gave him time to get things worked out.
I was finally able to speak with him the middle of January and he assured me that he would ship the tops. A couple of weeks later they finally arrived...BROKEN. I contacted him and he said that he had insured them for almost double the amount. He would file a claim and get my money back to me. After several weeks of the same story, I contacted FEDEX and they told me they have no record of him filing a claim. I have tried for the past week to contact him on both phone numbers that he gave me and he will not return my calls. I called this morning and spoke with his mother. She said that he was there, but when she told him that it was me, I heard him talking in the background and she thenm told me that he was not there.

I am now completely fed up and pissed over this situation. Since he does not want to work this out with me, I will put it in the hands of the Postal Inspector. What he did constitutes fraud. I will also be contacting FEDEX to investigate, because I beleive that he shipped the tops already broken in an attempt to collect insurance money.

I do know that he is back on the computer and is most likely on the forum possibly under a different name. His former forum name was RON CONRAD.

I would guess that he still frequents this forum, so the following is my final attempt to contact him.

Ron,
You had several chances to make this right. I am tired of being lied to. Since you do not wish to work this out with me, you can now work it out with the USPS. I told you the beginning of the week that things had gone too far and that you needed to step up and take care of this. You have had all week to contact me and have chosen not to. It is now out of my hands. You have my email address, 3 different phone numbers, and my mailing address. I think that I have made it very easy for you to contact me. For what ever reason, YOU have taken it this far.


Thanks to all of the forum members who have followed this and have given me support and ideas. I think it's time we send a message to guys like this that the CORVETTE FORUM is NOT the place to rip other members off.

Mail fraud is a bad bad thing. Im sure they will stick it to him, just might take some time. Stick with it.

I've been keepin up with this story, and your right you've done everything right. It's his final opportunity to be a real man with real character and get at least one thing right. I hope he does the right thing, but he's the one that has to deal with this stuff at night when he lays down. You've done good Dabo, your a good man for dealing with it in the appropriate measures. I think it would be great if this forum had a trustworthy rating system for each member. Can't be that hard to add. That way the good wouldn't suffer for the bad.

Dabo, I think you can tell alot about a member by his number of posts and actual days of being an active member.

I am curious, how long was he here when the transaction began?

I hate crooks. I have a friend in that area that's a PI and former state cop, let me know if you need his services for anything. Postal Inspectors are your best option but if the items were not sent through the US Mail they may not touch this. I'd report it to the local police too. Too bad it's illegal to kick his teeth out.

Why don't you just work it out with him? I really do not find this bashing of individuals on the Forum defensible :( . And I do not wish to see it here. A uni-lateral comment on a person's financial situation and personal integrity?? And those let get his b....s for bookends responses are not appropriate. Call me a prude if you wish. But the civility of the C3 Forum has downhill in the last two years. Just a subjective impression based on experience.
