Where can I get a frame for a 72 coupe 4speed?
Where can I get a new frame? How much will it cost?
What about a used frame?
Is it better to pay more and get a new one?

There are a couple on ebay right now. Also corvette central has frames but they are 3600 bucks.
Hey,
where do you live in the Atl area.

Best to look locally - and just hold out for the one that's right for you.
I was contacted by someone locally that saw my rusted frame posts right
here on the forum. Short version : A few weeks later I bought a used
rolling chassis and rear body clip. There are repairs that need to be done,
but my previous frame was not really repairable.
The chassis/clip cost me $1200 (for reference).
IMO - the Ebay frame in your other thread should have sold for under $800.
Good luck.

I've got a mid 70's automatic frame that's fairly nice. I don't think the car was damaged, but it had an underhood fire and was parted years ago. If you're handy with a mig it'd probably fit your need if there's anything left of yours as far as brackets, crossmember, etc. I can't remember exactly what the differences are except the auto crossmember, but can look first of the week if you're interested. Best of all it's within 100 miles of you.

I got mine from America's Finest Corvettes. They were nice to deal with, although Mike seemed like he was very busy. I don't remember exactly how much it cost.. or I may have blocked it from memory ;) I got one that was un-restored and had it powdercoated once it got here. I shopped around quite a bit when I ordered the frame, and had even tried buying one from a junkyard I found at www.car-parts.com. The shop doing the work turned down the junkyard frame before they even took it off the truck. Mike at America's Finest was very helpful in helping me get a frame within my price range.

There is a gentleman named Mac that is in your neck of the woods that had one not long ago, I was hunting one for my 72. I only needed a section and found one closer, but he was reasonably priced. I am pretty sure I have seen him on the forum within the past few months. I will try to find some of my notes with more info for you.
