Default ZR1 Motor

My C3 comrades,

Check out this ZR1 motor available on E-bay. I wish I had seen this about a month ago. Very low 'buy it now' price for a ZR1 motor, Hmmmm!

Who wants to be the first to put one in a C3? I'd love to see it done, especially to my car!

A Vendor at Knoxville EXPO had a ZR-1 in a '63 Coupe with the dash and seats and a set of custom panels to match from the donor car. KILLER !!!!!

You guys are nuts. Get a nice crate motor and be happy. ZR1 motors aren't worth ALL the extra headache if you are starting LOOKING for A motor.

I did go with a crate motor and very happy with it.

This motor just looks cool, plus I've seen them sell for around 10,000 grand or more. I thought $4000 was very reasonable.

BE CAREFUL! It may be a scam. The same engine with the same pictures is for sale by a diiferent seller here: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=33615

I'd be real careful of the one with the $4000 price!

there was a guy on corvette action center that SUPPOSEDLY had an LT-5 in his 82. He was bragging about it but never showed any pics. I started questioning if he actually had it and it got nasty. very weird, hell if I had an lt-5 in mine i know my pics would be plattered all over the site :)

A little FYI...I just contacted the "seller" of this particular auction on the phone since it's a local number for me.

Got a tape recording from "Gino...at Corvette Salvage". Left a message that the same motor was being auctioned out of FLA with the same pictures and wanted to find out what the deal was. Left my home phone...I wonder if they'll call back. :skep: :skep: :skep:

No Corvette Salvage in the phone book and No Corvette Salvage from phone information operator...hmmm. :skep: :skep: :skep:

I wouldn't touch the ZR motor with a 10 foot pole, even if it were legit....the parts are insane, and the knowledge how to work on one of those is nill. The dealers don't even work on those things...they pull the motors out and send them to the mfg...think its Mercury, for major engine repair.

Another update....the guy with the motor in Kenner just called me back. His is the original add (was run for 10 days) and he's all over EBay about this guy right now and man is he pizzed. He's got a private shop and he brought up names of some folks I know locally so who know's, but he sounded fairly legit.

He's pretty upset with the other guy rippin' his photos and a bunch of other stuff. I wonder how it'll all end.
