Hypothetical question.....
keep in mind this does not reflect the worth of your car on the market or appraisal value....how much would it take if someone came up to you one day and said i will give you 'x' $$ for your vette right now...what would that number be for you to sell it right there and then...considering the trouble of finding another and building it to the way i would like it, i would say bye-bye on the spot for 50 000$ canadian....like i said, this is purely just a hypo question and does not reflect what your car is really worth.....

Re: Hypothetical question..... (1bad69)
I've thought about that very question many times. Although I don't technically own the car, if I was to sell it, I too would ask for around $50,000. I realize my car is not worth anything close that for anyone else, but that is what it is worth to me, much like what Mike was saying.

For my car, as it sits in pieces right now, I'd pay someone to take it away. But that's just my frustration talkin'.
Once it's done, new clutch, front suspension. etc. $20k is a no-haggle "Buy It Now" price.

The way it sits, it is priceless... It keeps me out of trouble at night, and I dream of working on it all day.
Once my car is done, I would jump at $25 000 CDN... Then I would turn around and spend it on a 67 or 69.

A guy I work with offered me some crazy money for mine not too long ago. I just couldn`t do it too him. All my other working buddies said I was crazy for not taking it, but I have to work with all of them. First he said $19500. Then he worked his way up to $21k. I kept telling him no. Finally he came up to me with a piece of paper and it had $21500 on it and told me to take the paper home with me and show my wife.
I just couldn`t take his money. That was crazy money for my car, IMO.

Only very "crazy money" could get it away from me. :steering:

If someone layed out 21, 22,000 grand I might consider, even though I have pored way more money into the car. As with many Corvette owners this car has mucho sentimental value and would be tough to part with. :cry

I gotta agree with Ultra - sentimental value adds a lot. I probably won't ever have to worry about it, 'cause I'd have to have way too much.

NOM documeneted 4 owner 1970 LT-1 coupe, needs front carpet, seats redone (one bad frame), new brakes system (pads, calipers, master cylinder), all new hoses and belts), new radiator, drained and cleaned tank, rebuilt holley, needs paint and minor bodywork, probably needs shocks and bushings, will need engine overhaul. Runs great, awesome driver car, everything works except clock and wipers (motor issue I think).
$20k yes, $17k possible.
Always for sale. It can be replaced.

Re: Hypothetical question..... (scottw)
Even thoiugh the car doesn't currently run, there is no amount of money that would make me get rid of it. Not only was it my first car, it's the second biggest love in my life besides my wife. I just can't wait until I add more Corvettes to my collection. :auto:

I usually get 2 or 3 serious offers at every car show I go to. I think I would need at least 20K but maybe closer to 25K to make me really start to consider it. After all, this is my baby. :) Even at that I probably still wouldn't sell it.
